Glass production is an elaborate and exciting process - from the design and basic material, sand, to the finished product. The production of glass at Hadeland Glassverk is still carried out as it was 240 years ago. Nevertheless, there is a constant development and we continually break boundaries.

Cold and hot production

Production itself consists of what we like to call the hot and cold stages. Hot production takes place in the Glass Factory where our skilled glassblowers shape the molten glass into finished products. After cooling, these products are moved into the cold part. This is where quality control and sorting takes place and various products receive further finishing, for example by cutting, sandblasting or engraving. Afterwards they are washed and packed, ready for sale in shops throughout Norway.

Today, about 400 000 items are dispatched through the gates of Hadeland Glassverk every year.
