Inspiration

A new design project may originate in an experience, an idea or a specific aim to offer a new product. Inspiration may be drawn from quite different sources: books, conversations, travel, fine art or from nature. Designers often see what others miss. They see the bigger picture in the little details of life. In a puddle of water or in the wrinkled skin of a raisin.

Collaboration in the Glass Factory

The Glass Factory is the beating heart of Hadeland Glassverk. This is where designers and glassblowers continually push the limits of what can be achieved. What was previously impossible suddenly becomes possible. And all thanks to a shared passion for the glowing molten glass. The designer is the conductor; the glassblowers the orchestra. They respect each other’s particular skills – the designer as artist, the glassblower as artisan. Only then does glass art come into its own.
